”Allen is the owner and lead therapist at Bodies in Balance Integrated Therapeutics. He has been involved in healthcare and wellness for over 20 years. He attended the diagnostic imaging and allied health degree programs at Albert Einstein Medical Center and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and graduated at the top of his class. He began his career as a medical imaging technologist (X-ray/MRI) in 1989. During that time, he worked in a variety of clinical settings including hospitals, operating rooms, trauma emergency rooms, imaging centers and orthopedic/sports medicine practice.
In 1996, he chose to take a more “hands-on” approach to his work and enrolled at the Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College and completed the 735 hour program with honors. In 1997, he transitioned from his imaging career and opened Bodies in Balance Integrated Therapeutics, a clinical and sports massage therapy practice in Scottsdale focused on soft tissue pain, injury rehabilitation and restorative wellness. Since that time he has performed over 9,000 hours of hands-on treatment including work with professional athletes from the NFL and MLB as well as Ironman triathletes and accomplished dance performers. He has completed over 500 continuing education hours and advanced certifications in Neuromuscular Therapy, Orthopedic Massage and Assessment, Myoskeletal Alignment, Sports Massage, Fascial Stretch Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy and Lymphatic Massage. He has been certified with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork and in personal training with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Additionally, in 2000 he had the remarkable experience of traveling to Thailand to study the ancient art of Traditional Thai massage. Allen continues to devote an extraordinary amount of time and effort into expanding his knowledge and skills through continuing education and self-study.
Allen specializes in a wide range of evidence-based, hands-on therapy solutions for common musculoskeletal problems and chronic pain conditions. His treatments are specific and tailored to clients’ individual needs rather than taking a “cookie-cutter” approach. He enjoys educating clients about how their bodies work and self care methods that can give them control over their own results. He has a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and physiology, function and movement coupled with a compassionate and easy-going manner. He works in conjunction with local physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors and fitness professionals as an adjunct to their care or as a stand alone solution. Through his own encounters with soft tissue pain & injury he has gained a depth of understanding about what his clients are experiencing and how to chart a course toward wellness and a life without pain.”

”I have been practicing bodywork for 30 years and it is my passion. I also teach a free Meditation class in Green Valley and Tucson, AZ as I feel our body/mind connection isn’t complete without our spiritual development. I have been training with Dr. David Berceli who founded the Trauma Release Exercises. This is an added help for myself and clients to clear the neurological system of chronic tension as well as PTSD. For more information on this topic, please check www.traumapreventin.com. Myofascial Release has been my main mode of bodywork since 1999. I would not be practicing if it were not for John Barnes using this technique which corrected my long standing back problem.”
