Education and Continuing Education/Seminars: Myofascial Release 1,2,3, Unwinding, Rebounding, Cervical Thoracic, Fascial Pelvis, Skill Enhancement, Healing Seminar, Subtle Energy, Lower Sacral Training Paoli Clinic (all John Barnes), Upledger CST 1,2, SER, ZB1, Barral Visceral Manipulation 1,2,4, Vibroacoustic Therapy, Acutonics 1,2, KST-Myofascial Cupping, Dalton Myoskeletal Therapy (Erik Dalton), Foundations in Myofascial Release (Walt Fritz).

Myofascial release is a powerful modality that has been very successful in the treatment of chronic and acute pain conditions . Although myofascial release is the foundation on which I build my practice all the modalities in which I am trained compliment the process and help to produce a lasting result. Per request of the client a session may take place on a vibroacoustic sound table. Vibroacoustic therapy has been likened to “myofascial rebounding” by advanced MFR therapists who have experienced MFR treatment at Cape Cod Myofacial Release Studio. Massage clients have claimed that it feels like a “cellular massage”. To date there has not been one client request to not use the vibro-table in a session.

Myofascial massage cupping and vibroacoustic therapy added at the end of a MFR session have been extremely helpful in reducing the discomfort from the healing chaos that arises for some after a myofacial release session.

At Cape Cod Myofascial Release Studio your healing experience will be uniquely your own.

By being present and focused, we can move into an area of pain and restriction with intention, and emerge transformed. Safe, sacred space is held with love and compassion. Each session is unique, based on the body’s needs in that moment.

I believe that if you are not treating the fascia, you are not treating one of the main causes of pain and disability. I believe that you can work very deeply and yet very gently with the body, using only as much force as the tissues need to release. I also specialize in Myofascial Scar Release.

I have found craniosacral therapy to be one of the most powerful healing techniques. I have been working with traumatic brain & spinal cord injured patients at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital since 2000. It is some of the most difficult but also the most rewarding work that I do.

I have been a certified athletic trainer for 26 years, and bring my wealth of knowledge of the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic & sports injuries to my work as a massage therapist. I often combine therapeutic massage, myofascial release and craniosacral therapy to treat the root cause of your pain & disability while treating the symptoms.

My specialty and interests lie in restoring and improving bio-mechanical functionality primarily through addressing fascial adhesions within the soft tissue. My work is appropriate for individuals struggling with both chronic and acute pain conditions as well as athletes and others who wish to improve their performance. I try to provide education and insight into pain patterns for my clients through improved postural awareness, specific techniques to monitor and improve habitual postural patterns, and stretches and self-care techniques. The work I do can be challenging and requires active participation from the client. I recommend referring to my website and reading my YELP reviews to get a full flavor of the type of work that I engage in. I actively avoid working with individuals who are specifically interested in relaxation massage, although my work can be relaxing at times. The problem with relaxation work (apart from being boring) is that it inhibits the therapist from pursuing a solution to a musculoskeletal problem if that solution challenges the client.
