Foundations in Myofascial Release Seminar:
The Lower Body

The Foundations in Myofascial Release Seminar: The Lower Body introduces a simple to comprehend manner of engaging your patient’s pain/dysfunction in a manner that is explained with known science. Using neurological-based model of intervention the therapist is able to easily produce lasting changes in pain, movement dysfunction, and loss of range of motion. Covering areas from the thorax through the low back and pelvis, and finishing with the legs, ankles, and feet, the therapist will be able to apply these concepts to a wide rage of issues, including issues of mid and low back pain, autonomic dysfunction, hip/pelvic/sacral pain, knee/ankle/foot disorders, as well as more complex issues of the entire body. Comparing and deconstructing some of the common means of evaluating and treating low back and related pain issues gives the therapist a fresh and “sterile” view of pain and treatment. The Foundations Approach is less about learning techniques, but more about learning a deeper model of understanding pain and ways we can utilize the nervous system to elicit change. Older “fascial-based” models will be discussed and compared with the newer neurological models, including autonomic nervous system engagement and cutaneous nerve/skin-based approaches. We will explore the role that posture and asymmetry play with pain, as well as explore alternate ways of determining treatment.

The Lower Body Seminar will teach you a wide variety of mindsets and methods to engage your patient in meaningful change, but just as importantly you will learn novels ways of determining appropriate areas to treat. Integrating myofascial release into an existing practice is not always an easy task, but we will spend time discussing ways to merge myofascial release treatment into your current practice. You will also appreciate how the principles of the Foundations Approach blend well with your current modalities.

In all Foundations Seminars we address moving toward specialization in your practice and how narrowing your range of clients can actually increase your business. Practice problems and suggestions are discussed throughout the class and you will be given the necessary backing to move toward specificity in your practice, which will help it to grow.

Foundations in Myofascial Release Seminars are designed for both beginner and experienced therapists. Massage therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech language pathologists will all find value in these fast paced and enjoyable hands-on classes. Using an easy to follow approach, Foundations Seminars will build the confidence of a beginner to start using this valuable modality from the first day. Those who have taken other myofascial release seminars will find fresh a fresh approach to evaluation and treatment. Integrating a nervous system based approach creates entirely new openings for the therapist to follow. Pain which was previously explained in a nebulous manner, taking into account the supposed far-reaching effects of the fascial system can now be explained in a plausible fashion using simple neuroanatomy and neuroscience. Advance your practice and your mind with plausible, enjoyable learning experiences.

The Lower Body Seminar is 20 hours/2.5-days, requires no prerequisites and is approved by NCBTMB for 20 CE Hours. Approval for SLP’s, PT’s, PTA’s, OTR’s, and COTA’s varies on a state-by-state basis. Please inquire for specific approval for these and other professions, as many will have been previously approved.
